Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC

In March 2007, Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC broke ground on a 1,700-acre site in Greensburg, Ind., for a new $550 million manufacturing plant. The facility – Honda’s sixth auto plant and 14th production facility in North America – was slated to begin production of the Honda Civic sedan in fall 2008 and employ approximately 2,000 associates at its Decatur County location.

When the 75-plus site search narrowed to include the Northbrook Industrial Park outside of Dayton, Ohio, local officials quickly began vying for the $65 million, 300-job project.
