Vectren Economic Development is committed to promoting economic growth throughout the communities it serves. As part of this commitment, Vectren offers tuition-only scholarships to economic development practitioners interested in attending one of the Basic Economic Development Courses in either Indiana or Ohio.
Basic Economic Development Courses offer intensive training in the basic concepts, methods and strategies of economic and community development and are accredited by the International Economic Development Council.
The Indiana Basic Economic Development Course is held in January each year at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. The Ohio Basic Economic Development Course is offered annually in either March or April and takes place in Columbus, Ohio.

Vectren may publicize the fact that it has awarded scholarships to particular individuals. This is not a cash grant. Vectren will reimburse the institution for tuition charges only. Vectren typically awards three grants per year but reserves the right to vary from this practice. Tuition scholarships are not granted to students or to individuals who provide service exclusively to a geographic area that falls outside of Vectren’s service area.
