Indiana is also home to Ivy Tech Community College, the nation’s largest singly-accredited statewide community college system that has more than 120,000 students enrolled annually.  Eleven of Ivy Tech’s 23 campuses are located within Vectren’s service area. 

Vincennes University is another rapidly growing community college in Vectren’s southwestern service area that has become a major force in workforce development by offering more than 100,000 hours of training per year.

K – 12 Education

The state of Indiana remains committed to ensuring academic excellence and equity for Hoosier children in its school systems.  According to data from STATS Indiana,

  • Approximately 82 percent of Indiana residents have a high school degree or higher,

  • More than 1.1 million students are enrolled in Indiana’s public and private school systems,
  • Almost all Hoosier students indicate they intend to pursue some form of higher education, and
  • Around 70 percent of Indiana students will remain within the state for post-secondary education
