Indiana's "Shovel Ready" Sites Program

Shovel Ready SitesThe following sites located in the Vectren service territory, have been designated by the State Of Indiana as "Shovel-Ready". To be Shovel-Ready certified, a site has undergone an environmental process and qualifies for expedited permitting with state regulatory agencies to allow quick investment and expansion plans. The Shovel Ready Program lowers the cost of site development, and reduces the state permitting time by up to 30 percent.

Indiana’s Certified Technology Parks Program:

The Certified Technology Parks program is designed to support the attraction and growth of high-tech business and industry within the State of Indiana.  A site that has been designated as a Certified Technology Park can recapture a portion of certain state and local tax revenue in order to invest in the development of the park.  The State of Indiana has designated the following sites within Vectren’s service territory as Certified Technology Parks.

Ohio's "Job Ready" Site Program

In 2005, Ohio voters approved selling $150 million in bonds during a seven-year period to fund grants for the Ohio Job Ready Sites (JRS) program.  The JRS program awards grants of up to $5 million to help offset the costs of industrial and commercial site development.  The following site within Vectren’s service territory has received funding from the JRS program.
